The episode was nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards, winning one for Outstanding Animated Program.

The episode is incredibly powerful, and it does a great job of showing the effects of addiction on those close to the addict. It also shows how difficult it is to get help for addiction, and how addiction can destroy relationships.
